Coach Pitch is the transitional division from Tee Ball to baseball. In the Coach Pitch division, the focus is on introducing basic baseball concepts. We do not keep score in Coach Pitch and while the games can be competitive, the rules are modified to avoid strike outs and give each child an equal opportunity to participate and succeed. Players get 5 pitches from a coach, then a batting tee is used if a pitched ball is not hit. The tee is used often at the start of the season, and may be seen less frequently as the season progresses. Games last about an hour and a half. Coaches are on the field with the players during games and also act as umpires.
